Any *REAL* GMAT CAT tests?

by atharshiraz Tue Jan 03, 2012 9:10 pm

I was looking online to see if I could find any real GMAT CAT exams.

To my surprise I could not find a SINGLE GMAT CAT exam (besides the 2 that come free) given by the GMAC (Mba.com people).

Look here :

http://www.mba.com/the-gmat/prepare-for-the-gmat.aspx

Does anyone find this odd ? They have entire books on the verbal and math sections as well as a book that is the official guide but there is not an official exam (CAT) that is sold by the GMAC (with the exception of the two precious GMAT CAT exams that come with the software).

If someone else finds this odd please do speak up and if anyone has tried to come up with a workaround please explain.

I am giving the CATs by the mgmat people and honestly the questions are tricky (euphemistically speaking) to say the least.

The only full practice CATs published by the people who make the exam are the 2 GMATPrep practice CATs. They give them away, rather than sell them, because they think that people should be able to have free access to practice CATs.

They also have a product called GMAT Focus - this is a "mini-CAT" for the quant section only (24 questions, adaptive just like the real test). This is a product that you have to purchase - it's not free.
