Would love to revamp my basic grammar. It'll be nice if it has similar content that the GMAT tests on.

I know this may sound a bit self-promoting, but I really do believe that our Sentence Correction Strategy Guide is one of the best books out there (click to go to the entry in our store, where you can look at the first chapter of the book). In the book, you'll learn all of the important English grammar rules that the GMAT demands its test-takers to be familiar with and it will provide you with various problem sets to complete in the Official Guide for practice. If you are a bit hesitant (after all, this is coming from the ManhattanGMAT forums), I would suggest checking out customer reviews on Amazon.com and bn.com. Traditionally, we have received high marks on our materials, but our Sentence Correction Guide definitively satisfies our customers.

You can also check out books at your local library. Some of my students have liked Strunk and White's guide (though this also covers things that are NOT tested on the GMAT - so, if you use that, make sure to cross-check with a list of GMAT grammar topics).

Actually I did get a Manhattan gmat SC book. It did help a bit but not build a complete confidence level when tackling SC q's.

Also when Ron and Stacey were explaining Grammar concepts in the forums, I did find that some of the topics weren't covered in the SC books.

Bottom line I am not able to address a verbal Q like a Math Q. I mean I dont have a solid foundation or confidence in verbal

Oh Well, Let me write my debrief and maybe you guys can help me out

If you're looking for something that's on a bit more of a fundamental level, I'd go to your local library and browse some grammar texts. Look for something in which the language / setup is easy for you to follow - it really speaks to you. :)

Just be careful to cross-reference with what's tested on the GMAT - not everything is. (Unless, of course, you're really interested in doing a thorough study of grammar for its own sake!)
