Am I slow?

by Guest Thu Dec 27, 2007 11:15 pm

I purchased the full online program 2 weeks ago. During the presentation for the first recorded session, the instructors recommended spending somewhere from 15-18 hours a week studying. I've been trying to follow the syllabus in terms of what subjects to cover first and trying to work all the OG questions (taking time to make sure I fully understand why I got the question right or wrong.) However, I am on week 2 trying to cover finish the class's first week of material. I am unemployed with a lot of time on my hands and have been diligent about studying, about 4 to 8 hours a day with the exception of the Christmas. The question I have is am I progressing slower then I should be or is not necessary to go over the questions with so much detail. I was planning on taking the test in February, but the way it is looking right now, it feels like I wont be ready for the test until June.
Any feedback or suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks.

I realized that I didn't follow the syllabus close enough, instead of just covering the 3 C's, I went through the entire Sentence Correction book. No wonder it took so long. : P

Ah, that would take a lot longer, yes! :)

FYI - you don't need to do every single OG question. Actually, I tell my students NOT to do every question - save some for review at the end of the course. Also, for the problems at the end of each chapter in the red strategy guides, I tell my students to try all of them if a chapter is giving them trouble, but if they know the material well, they may only do half of them (though skip around a bit and try some of the higher-numbered ones, as those tend to be harder).
