Am I eligible for a good B school with the GNAT score of 590

by rajahep Tue Oct 13, 2009 11:45 pm

I recently wrote my GMAT and got 590(Q-42, V-28). I was really disappointed on my quant section. I was getting more than 48(section score) in all my mock tests and i was very confident on maths section. i don't know what went wrong on my real exam.

English, I just lost my hope to increase my scores. I could not guess more than 50% of the questions correct both in RC and CR. Is there any good materials to prepare for RC and CR other than OG....

Also I have applied for Schulich School of Business for Jan 2010 entry with this score. Is there any possibility to get admissions there. I have 2.5 yrs of exp in IT industry and 7.00 CGPA(based on 10 scale) in my undergraduation.

Should I take GMAT again to get into top universities.

Please advice

Thanks,
Raja

Most schools will publish the range of GMAT scores earned by admitted students in recent years. Some will also publish a minimum score. Finally, you can also contact the admissions department directly to ask.

I can't advise you much on the admissions part of things - I know about the GMAT, not admissions. You may want to post your question in the "Ask An Admissions Consultant" folder.

In terms of whether to take the GMAT again, that depends upon where you want to go to school and what scores they like (in terms of averages, ranges for accepted students, or minimums required). Luckily, most of that information is available on the web - you'll just need to do a bit of research!
