Advice Needed for Study Plan

by lawoman25 Thu Aug 12, 2010 1:00 am

Greetings,

I am in my 3rd week of the MGMAT 9 week course and I have a few concerns.

I have been able to complete and understand the In Action assignments, but when I tackle the timed Official Guide problems I can't remember the strategies and either run out of time or get them wrong.

My first practice test yielded a score of 520- 26 for Quant and 36 for Verbal. I understand I have a lot of work ahead of me and I would like to know how to proceed.

Should I keep tackling the O.G. problems even though I get them wrong? And should I keep doing them over until I get them right?

Thanks.

Yes, you should keep tackling the OG problems, though don't do all of them or even most. Do some of the lower-level ones to test out what you have learned and to figure out what you need to study more. Then go study more and then come back to OG again.

Also, think of it this way: it's GOOD when you get something wrong. Then you know you're about to learn something, and isn't that the point of studying? :)

Use this article to help you analyze the problems that you do. Most of your learning comes from the analysis you do after you try it - not while you're doing it in the first place.
