about the free CAT

by gpaleksandrov Tue Oct 19, 2010 1:43 pm

Does the free CAT test in this forum act as the real GMAT with regards to experimental questions ? I scored unreal (in my opinion) results considering the number of mistakes I had made. If yes, what is the number of experimental questions per section? Thank you !

Does the forum have any moderators or someone to review this kind of posts ?

You can make plenty of mistakes and score well, it all depends on how difficult the questions you are answering are.

Other than the official two cat exams, the mgmat cats are the most realistic interpretation of the real thing.

We answer questions in this folder twice a week, typically three to 5 business days apart. Every question does get answered, but we don't answer questions every day.

Please do no re-post to your own thread (or "bump" your own post). We answer questions in order, oldest first, and the date is based upon the LAST post in the thread. If you "bump" your own post, you will wait longer for a reply.

Our test does not include any experimental questions. The test does, however, follow the same scoring patterns as the real test. The test is not scored based upon the percentage correct; you should expect to get a large number of questions wrong. For the vast majority of scoring levels, people answer approximately 60% of the questions correctly.

Log into your student center and read your free e-book The GMAT Uncovered. Pay particular attention to the section about scoring. If you don't understand how the scoring works (and it is VERY different than the kind of scoring you're used to on regular paper tests), then you will have trouble maximizing your score on this test.

Good luck!
