A Question on "Comparisons"

by npalani07 Thu Feb 20, 2014 11:08 pm

For the first time, a Nuclear fusion experiment has released more energy than did the Hydrogen fuel.

Can I express the same meaning with the sentence below?

For the first time, a Nuclear fusion experiment has released more energy than the Hydrogen fuel did.

In essence, do the above two sentences convey same meaning? Or is there some error in the second sentence.

Thanks,
Palaniappan

Both of these sentences are nonsense, as both of them compare a type of experiment with a type of fuel.

Also, it seems unlikely that you're making these sentences up at random, so you may as well cite the source that inspired them. That would help us get some insight into what you're trying to do here.
