680 in my last Practice Test.... Official GMAT in THREE DAYS

by rafa.romero Fri Jul 30, 2010 5:46 pm

Hi, I would really appreciate if you can tell me if you guys have developed a correlation between the MGMAT Pracrice Test scores and the official score... Should I expect to be around +/- X points in the official test?

On my first 5 tests I consistently scored 600 score, as I saw no improvement whatsoever, and I was getting a little frustrated. But I did not get my hopes down, and on the past week, I fully dedicated almost 100% of my spare time to practice!

On my last practice test from MGMAT I was so releived to see that my score increase to 680 (46 Quant / 36 Verbal)... (My goal is to be above 650)

I believe the range is within 30-50 points of the real GMAT test, assuming you were under testing conditions.

The standard deviation is about 50 points from last MGMAT test to real test, regardless of how students took the test (because we just do that stat on everybody).

You're less likely to have your score drop 50 points, though, if you were taking your practice tests under official testing conditions (including the essays, the lengths of the breaks, everything). The official stat includes the scores of people who took their last practice test under non-official conditions, which sometimes inflates your score.
