670 GMAT - 43Q, 39V Retake?

by AndrewD324 Wed Sep 30, 2015 1:01 pm

Hi there! I recently took the GMAT exam, and I scored a 670 with a 43Q and 39V. Leading up to the exam, I probably did not study as much as I could have, but in my MGMAT online CATs, my scores were always either 640 or 650 and the 43 is my highest quant score to date.

I'm not looking to go to a Top 10 school, but I would like to go to a well-respected, competitive school. Some options I'm looking in to are Baylor University, Indiana University and Washington University in St. Louis. Do you think I should retake my exam and try to improve my score? Or do you think that my score would be sufficient for these programs?

Thanks!

That's a great question! I'm just not the right person to ask. :?

I can advise you about how to get better if you do decide to take the test again, but you really want to talk to an admissions consultant about whether to take it again in the first place. We've got another folder here, Ask an Admissions Consultant - post there. (Are you one of our class / self-study / tutoring students? You can also sign up for a free 30-minute phone consult with MBA Mission, a great admissions consulting firm. Look in your student center for details or email gmat@manhattanprep.com to find out more.)

I also recommend that you do a little research. What are the average scores at those programs? (They all post this data on their web sites.) How does your GPA compare to their average? Work experience? Just get a sense of how your profile stacks up compared to the general profile of the admitted students at these schools.

Let us know what you decide - and then we can talk about a study plan if you do decide to take the test again!
