570 Max... Need to improve... BOOTCAMP ahead!

by rafa.romero Wed Apr 28, 2010 7:40 pm

Hello,

I have tried three times over the past three years to take the GMAT and my best score is 570. I know that this score will put me out of any highly ranked b.schools...

As i have a full time job, i do not have any spare time to prepare properly for the GMAT and this has been the main reason I just cant get a better score.

After a carefully looking at my options, I decided to enroll on your bootcamp prep for this summer at NYC. I am excited about the fact that I will be dedicating fully two weeks of my time to the GMAT prep...

I would very much appreciate if you could suggest me which activities should I be doing this month so I can maximize my experience there? What Info do you need on my end to provide helpful feedback?

Best Regards,
Rafael

If you haven't already, sign up so that you can receive all of your materials.

Start by taking the Basic Math Diagnostic (located online in your Student Center). Follow the suggestions made based upon your results.

After you've followed whatever suggestions were made, take a full-length practice test under official test conditions (2 essays @ 30min each, 8 min break, quant section @ 75min, 8 min break, verbal section @ 75min). Use this article to analyze your results:

Do preliminary reading in your areas of weakness from the corresponding regular chapters in your red strategy guide books. Don't do the advanced chapters. Do some but not all of the In-Action problems at the end of each chapter.

For example, if your test review indicated a weakness with inequalities, read the regular Inequalities chapter in the Equations, Inequalities & VICs book. Do some of the In-Action problems printed in the book at the end of that chapter.

That should keep you busy for a month. :)
Good luck!
