510 to 690.. can we aim for 730+ ??

Hello Good people,

I took my GMAT in November 2012 and Scored 690 (Q48, V36).. As much as I was content with my score, I plan to give GMAT another shot and want to score 730+ . . .

When i look back at 690, I see that i could have done better in RC and definitely better in Quants (Indian; so the pool I belong to certainly looks down on me with a Q48 :)).. Could you please guide me on how to devise a strategy for 730+ ??

For Quants, I do plan to refere MGMAT Advance Quant guide as I did not do it last time around and focus more on RC this time around. I plan to do the "RON" Strategy of back solving etc for quants as well.

The reason I come back to you guys is that MGMAT played a pivotal role in my score improvement last time around - please help me again!!

PS - I have OG 12 and GMAC's question pack with 404 additional questions, should I buy OG 13??

Okay, first, nice job on the 690! I need a lot more detail from you, though, before I can know how to advise you.

Then come back here and tell us the results of your analysis and what you think you should do based on that analysis. We'll tell you whether we agree and advise you further. (Note: do share an analysis with us, not just the raw data. Part of getting better is developing your ability to analyze your results - figure out what they mean and what you think you should do about them!)

Good that you're going to use Advanced Quant. You may or may not need OG13 - it only has about 200 new questions in it (compared to OG12). It does, though, give you access to 50 IR questions (OG12 has zero), so you may want to get it for that reason.

For RC, are you struggling with the reading side of things? The questions? Both?

I'll start you with some reading resources, but (after you do your test analysis) give me a better idea of what's giving you the most trouble.
