If the sum of the digits of the positive two-digit number x is 4, what is the value of x?

(1) x is odd.

(2) Twice the value of x is less than 44.


Query:
x = two digit number. So X can be equal to 04? 0+4 = 4.
In this case, C and not B (Which is the MGMAT answer) will be the answer.

I want to know why x = 04 is not a valid case?

Because 4 is not a two-digit number. It's a one-digit number, even if you add a 0 in front. Two-digit numbers begin with 10.

If I say that I will give you a check with a 7 digit figure, I guess you are going to expect millions, not $1 ($0000001) or $10 ($0000010).
